Transforming Spaces with Art | The World Bank

Background

The World Bank, a global leader in development, launched an initiative to enhance its Paris offices with curated contemporary art, reflecting its mission to foster cultural diversity and innovation.

In collaboration with WeCare Impact, the project brought powerful cultural narratives into the workspace, creating inspiring environments that celebrate creativity, collaboration, and the Bank’s global community.

Our Challenge

The World Bank faced the challenge of navigating the complex art market to curate a collection that aligned with their cultural and aesthetic goals.

They aimed to reflect their mission of diversity, inclusion, and innovation while establishing a sustainable network of art vendors and galleries to support future acquisitions.

Streamlining vendor onboarding and procurement processes was also essential to ensure efficient and seamless collaboration.

Our approach

1. Defining the Vision

We aligned The World Bank’s collection goals with their values of diversity, inclusivity, and innovation, ensuring each piece reflected their global mission.

2. Building a Sustainable Ecosystem

We developed a network of galleries offering culturally significant, high-quality art to support long-term collaborations and future acquisitions.

3. Streamlining Vendor Onboarding

We simplified the onboarding process, integrating new galleries into The World Bank’s procurement framework for seamless collaboration.

4. Curating and Installing Art

Partnering with 193 Gallery, we curated works by artists Thandiwe Muriu, Hassan Hajjaj, Francisco Vidal, Bea Kusovszky, and Aurélie Djiena, carefully installing each piece to enhance the office environment and inspire creativity.

5. Collaborating with Stakeholders

Throughout the process, we worked with The World Bank’s team to align the collection with their values, fostering a sense of ownership and pride.
